FIELD: space engineering; protection of spacecraft surfaces against settling of liquid particles under conditions of vacuum. SUBSTANCE: drops of liquid are accumulated and are dispersed anew. Part of smaller drops is carried to near-axis zone of jet by flow of gas. Process is continued till contaminant has been completely removed from jet periphery. Drive used for protection of surface has shield embracing nozzle or branch pipe. Shield is made from coaxial cylindrical blanked-off on rear side. Leading edges of inner and outer cylinders project forward relative to shear of nozzle (branch pipe) and inner cylinder. EFFECT: limiting of angle of divergence of contaminates from exhaust jet; reduced contamination of surfaces. 3 cl, 2 dwg
