FIELD: nondestructive testing of materials and articles, flaw detection in ferromagnetic tapes and plates. SUBSTANCE: article is tested by positioning indication unit whose key element is magnetic tape above article. Magnetic field acts on tape. Flaws are detected by determination of magnetic state of tape with the help of method of local ferromagnetic resonance. Method makes it feasible to use normal or tangential components of magnetic field by selection of type of magnetic anisotropy of tape for nondestructive testing and to raise probability of flaw detection.
